Brand overview
The Community Loan Center is a nonprofit lending program established in 2011 by the Rio Grande Valley Multibank, a certified Community Development Financial Institution. Created to combat predatory lending, the program provides affordable, low-interest personal loans as a safe alternative to payday and car title loans. Employees of participating employers can borrow up to $1,000 with a 12-month repayment term, paying significantly lower fees while repayments are conveniently automated through paycheck deductions. Since its inception, the program has loaned $3.9 million to borrowers in the region, with all earnings reinvested into expanding lending capital and program access.
